Minneapolis is an excellent incubator for talent; from Prince and Lizzo to Babes in Toyland and Soul Asylum, their music scene must be wild. Folk-pop singer/songwriter Mason Jennings dropped out of school as a youngster and made his way there from Pittsburgh to develop his musical talents within a dynamic music scene that seemed to disregard genre. He recorded his first album himself and played every instrument (seriously, what are they feeding musicians in Minneapolis?) before putting together a band to join him onstage, and he’s been nonstop ever since.
