.Metallingus Mocks and Rolls at Caravan

Their live set ranges from a wide variety of covers (including AC/DC’s “Live Wire,” Kansas’ “Carry On Wayward Son” and The Who’s “Baba O’Riley”) to original music. Each cover song goes through a rigorous test and must meet a high criterion.
“We either all have to love it, or there has to be some really funny reason to play it,” Wilder jokes. “At one point we had so many covers, we had to form another band called Lickity Split, with the same members.”
“And we would open for ourselves,” Joe adds.
Even with the tongue-in-cheek humor, some folks didn’t get it, and Metalligus has had run-ins with irate attendees and bands.
“The most grief we ever got was before playing our song “The Poser Pays The Price.” We dedicated it to the next band, that sucked,” Joe says with a laugh. “Rocci actually got cornered by the singer, yelling ‘Fuck you!’ at him. We had to intervene and say, ‘Whoa, whoa, it’s just a joke!’”
“Yeah, lighten up, poser!” Corral adds.
