IT'S A SNAP: Mark Grieb sets the stage once again for the Sabercats who will be defending their title in 2008.

Remaking History

By Felipe Buitrago

HISTORY appears to be repeating itself in the NFL, with Tom Brady and the Pats going for the ring for the umpteenth time. Hopefully, we'll be able to say the same about arena football in 2008. The prize team of the AFL, the San Jose Sabercats, will open their season March 3 against the Chicago Rush. With two Arena Bowl titles and two MVP awards to match, quarterback Mark Grieb has been a decisive element in putting the Sabercats on the map. Now officially signed on for his 10th straight season, he'll be looking to defend the title in 2008. This year he'll be getting help from backup quarterback Brett Elliott. Fresh out of Linfield College, Elliott has won 23 out of 24 of his starting games in his two seasons there, and led his team to the Division III Championships in 2004. He has also been named Northwest Conference and West Region Offensive Player of the Year twice.
