5 Things to Love

Restaurants in Mountain View

By Stett Holbrook

MOUNTAIN VIEW's Castro Street and side streets offer more dining options in a few blocks than many burgs do citywide. Here are five of my favorites.

Chez T.J Chef Christopher Kostow earned Chez T.J. two Michelin stars last year. Now that he's left for Meadowood in St. Helena, it's up to new chef Bruno Chemel to take the restaurant to new heights. 938 Villa St, Mountain View. 650.964.7466.

Maru Ichi This place is tops for ramen. 368 Castro St, Mountain View. 650.564.9931.

Nami Nami Graduate from California rolls and tempura to this one-of-a-kind outpost for kappo-style Japanese food. 240 Castro St, Mountain View. 650.964.6990.

Neto Café Fantastic pastries (try the chocolate babka) and a great menu of Middle Eastern standards. 135 Castro St, Mountain View. 650.625.9888.

Rose International Market Persian grocery store and kebab hot spot. 1060 Castro St, Mountain View. 650.960.1900.
