MAESTRO: Fabio Mechitti guest-conducts Symphony Silicon Valley

Symphony Silicon Valley

By Michael S. Gant

IN the classical world, there's not much further to go than Beethoven's magnificent Symphony no. 9. Symphony Silicon Valley tackles the mountaintop with guest conductor Fabio Mechitti (of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra) at the podium and vocal support on the Ode to Joy from the 100-voice Symphony Silicon Valley Chorale. To warm up for the big event, the symphony will start the program with Brahmas' Song of Destiny.

Symphony silicon valley plays Thursday, March 27, at 7:30pm, Friday–Saturday, March 28–29, at 8pm and Sunday, March 30, at 2:30pm at the California Theatre, 345 S. First St., San Jose. Tickets are $37–$73. (408.873.9000)
