Cantabile Youth Singers For its latest concert, the senior choir of Cantabile Youth Singers performs "I Sing a World." Elena Sharkova leads the group in a program that includes David Brunner's Earthsongs and three vocal works by Rimsky-Korsakov, Ippolitov-Ivanov and Chesnokov, as well as Stephen Hatfield's Larger Than Life, the jazz-inflected Chile Con Carne and Piazzola's Libertango. For Joanne Szymko's Nada te Turbe, a new setting for words by St. Teresa of Avila, the group will be accompanied by cellist Stephen Harrison of the Ives Quartet. San Francisco Symphony As part of its educational Music for Families series, the symphony travels to Flint Center for a performance of Mozart's Allegro and Minuet from the Haffner Symphony plus selections by Britten, Schubert, Tchaikovsky and Copland. Edwin Outwater conducts in a manner designed to introduce young audiences to the wonders of the orchestra.
