DON'T look now, but sleepy Redwood City is developing quite a little food scene. Here are five restaurants that are elevating the city's culinary profile.

La Casita Chilanga Not a new restaurant but one of the best, especially if you like hulking, Mexico City–style tortas. Two locations to serve you. 2928 Middlefield Road, 650.568.0351; and 761 EL Camino Real, 650.364.2808.

Old Port Lobster Shack New England–style seafood specializing in lobster rolls and other seafaring foods. 851 Veterans Blvd. 650.366.2400.
