Good In-flight Snacks

By Stett Holbrook

EVEN WHEN the airlines served free food it wasn't very good, but now most make you pay for a crappy sandwich and a bag of chips. You're better off bringing your own snacks. Here are five ideas.

Hummus and Carrots Be kind to fellow passengers and go easy on the garlic by making your own.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Even crushed inside the one measly carry-on bag you're allowed, it will still taste better than a stale $5 sandwich from the plane's galley.

Salami and Cheese May we suggest pre-cut for your not-getting-arrested convenience?

Sushi Skip the raw fish and go for a vegetable roll with a longer shelf life. Don't forget the soy sauce packets.

Pizza Leftover pizza tastes almost as good as the first time around, especially at 35,000 feet.
