SINCE I bought the ticket to get-fit town, I've discovered that combining late-night adventures and early-morning workouts can be a recipe for disaster. But this weekend I plan on going all-out crazy and doing both. My schedule calls for running 13.1 miles while I listen to 14 live bands and then crown the hard work with a beer at the end. That can only mean the Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon is back in town, on Sunday, Oct. 5. From San Pedro and Santa Clara streets, the 13 miles will go east and west from Eleventh Street to Santa Clara and back to Plaza de Cesar Chavez where a cold Widmer beer will be waiting along with, yes, you guessed it, even more music and a Finish Line Festival. Beer is a very popular drink for a number of reasons, but hydration isn't one of them. That's why there will be seven water stations throughout the course. This is one run you won't need your iPod for.
