Chef Alice Medrich taught visitors some tricks about cooking with fruits at last year's Pear & Wine Festival. The event takes place again, with bountiful culinary offerings, this Sunday (Oct. 19) at Santana Row, 10am–6pm. This year's guests include Giada De Laurentiis and the growers from G Bar B Ranch in Kelseyville.

'Finding Nemo' favorites Marlin and Dory glide through the latest Disney on Ice presentation, '100 Years of Magic,' showcasing scores of Disney characters. The show runs Oct. 15–18 at the Oakland Oracle Arena, and then plays Oct. 22–26 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.com.
