.Michael Feinberg in San Jose

Autumn and jazz pair as gloriously as pumpkin and pie; one could say the same about Michael Feinberg and Jeff “Tain” Watts, who take the stage together this Friday to celebrate the release of Feinberg’s 10th album Blues Variant. An innovative jazz bassist and teaching artist at Berklee College of Music, Feinberg has earned the distinction of “a musical prodigy turned evil genius” from the magazine Spinner. With his penchant for merging pop sensibilities with avant-garde technique, Feinberg finds a friend in Watts, who brings “majestic grace” and “gritty street funk” to his drumming according to All About Jazz.
