Stanford Lively Arts’ 2011-2012 season features 30 performances from October through May. The line-up features several returning audience favorites like So Percussion, whose performance features electronic artists Matmos , the Merce Cunningham Dance Company and a program of music by John Cage (Oct. 26); St. Lawrence String Quartet (returning with their Sunday series Oct. 23); Pacifica Quartet (Nov. 4); Chanticleer’s Christmas event (Dec. 13); and Kronos Quartet (Feb. 12). It also continues SLA’s emphasis on new works and commissions, featuring premieres of works by Osvaldo Golijov (Oct. 23) and Sally Beamish (Feb. 29), along with Stanford composer Jonathan Berger (Jan. 29). Among other highlights will be two performances by vocal ensembles: Theatre of Voices presents Stanford alum David Lang’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Little Match Girl Passion, and Anonymous 4 returns for a 25th anniversary show (Apr. 18).
