The edgier acts at Mountain Winery have almost always been the openers, but Sarah Silverman will buck that trend when she brings her always-offensive-to-someone stand-up act to the 2012 summer series on June 23. The complete lineup, with shows from May 25 to October 6, was announced this morning.
The re-united Go-Gos, who surprised a lot of doubters with a brilliant show at Fillmore earlier this year (and just had Tobi Vail of Bikini Kill stick up for them) will come to the South Bay with a Mountain Winery show September 30. Other notables include Santa Cruz electro hippies Sound Tribe Sector 9, who play an acoustic show August 25, Michael Franti with Spearhead August 3, and the post-Michael-RIP Jacksons on July 27. The Kinks’ Ray Davies performs July 18, Weird Al Yankovic brings his Alpocalypse Tour there August 14, and Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers play August 26.
