Sometimes, The Ritz features lineups so iconic that it almost breaks reality. Take the upcoming show with Napalm Death, the Melvins, Weedeater and Dark Sky Burial. Napalm Death (1981) is considered a pioneer of the grindcore genre, infusing elements from crust punk and death metal to create an even gnarlier heavy rock. The Melvins formed two years later in 1983 and are also pioneers, credited as some of the first innovators in the grunge and sludge metal genre, influencing bands like Nirvana and Tool. Backing up these legendary bands are Weedeater, masters of stoner and sludge metal, and Dark Sky Burial, bringing a deliciously mystical element to metal with added electronic flair.
