Based in Denver, Colorado, Nathaniel Rateliff brings the rugged stylings of the Southwest to the infectious folk-pop trend of the 21st century. He got his start with other Americana bands of the Denver scene like the Lumineers and quickly became beloved for his affably thunderous sensibilities. In 2013, Rateliff added his backing band, the Night Sweats, to his act, pushing his sound toward vintage R&B. (For the record, some call this genre “cowpunk.”) As they tour their latest album, The Future, they’ve got crowds looking ahead to the new year with high hopes and, as always, just enough blues to appreciate the good times.
