Nathuram Godse killed one of the most beloved leaders of all time, Mahatma Gandhi. This story is based on his confession, where he wrote a ninety-two-page handwritten statement and then read it in court. In another proceeding, a judge let him speak for nine hours, giving rise to speculations that the movement that Godse was part of held a lot of political sway in the day. He believed in the delusion that he could save the country and was from a group of alleged Hindu supremacists: “I do say that my shots were fired at the person whose policies and actions had brought rack and ruin and destruction to millions of Hindus … I fired those fatal shots.”
