Grupo Folklórico Luna y Sol comprises more than 60 SJSU students, alums and community members. Wearing colorful skirts, jackets and hats, they perform the folk dances of the various regions and states that make up Mexico while promoting its music, history and culture. Co-founded in 2003 by alumna and former Oakland Raiderette Itza Sanchez and led by current artistic director Monika Angeles, the troupe participates in some 50 shows a year, including tonight’s annual Noche Folkórica.
