First St, San Jose; 408.280.3991; www.agendalounge.com By Todd Inoue Ambiance: Cosmopolitan, downtown cool Amenities: Fine dining, DJ music, dancing JACEK ROSICKI and Ann Chin were onto something when they took over the brick building that housed Marsugi's and turned it into a sumptuous, three-story, fine dining/dancing entertainment complex. The key word was "lounge"—as opposed to "club." The designation intimates a more laid-back, relaxed atmosphere and is now de rigueur among today's club entrepreneurs breaking into the game. Now nine years later, Agenda Lounge emerges as one of the O.G.'s on the block. They rode out the tech bust and a Row and kept dining room and dance floors afloat. To celebrate, they host a Ninth Anniversary Party on Friday (Jan. 14). An open bar from 5:30 to 7pm leads into a lavish spread of complimentary hors d'oeuvres by chef Brad Kraten. Live music by Dangerous Martini and Double Funk Crunch. Then at 10:30pm, DJs Rated R and Frank Morales take the party upstairs and into the night. Print up your own invite at www.agendalounge.com.
