Body & Soul
For people who are too busy to be sick, drop-in medical centers are just what the doctor ordered. A family physician booked three weeks into next month doesn't help with a painful bladder infection that needs attention now. And for business people who work all day, doc-in-the-boxes stay open until nine every night, including Saturdays and Sundays. Almost every type of insurance flies--a plus for people changing jobs, and insurance companies along with them.
Don't bother calling; drop-in centers don't take appointments. Typically, the wait isn't bad. If it is, patients can put their name on a list and come back 15 or 20 minutes later.
