Huey Lewis gets 'American Psycho' soundtrack pulled from record stores

By Sarah Quelland

IT SEEMS OUR REVIEW two weeks ago of the American Psycho soundtrack was a bit premature. Apparently, while Huey Lewis did agree to the use of his 1986 hit, "Hip to Be Square," in the film itself, he never gave clearance for its inclusion on the soundtrack. Initially scheduled for an April 4 release, the album has been recalled by Koch Records, which will reissue it without that song. Still, hundreds of copies are floating about, since Koch already shipped copies of the disc to stores in the U.S. and Canada and sent out plenty of promo copies to various print media and radio stations. The song will remain in the movie.
