IT'S GETTING TO FEEL a lot like picnic weather. If you don't mind a little wind, these early days of spring are a great time to grab some take-out food and take it outside. Or better yet, make lunch yourself, pick up a bottle of wine and enjoy some quality time with a special friend. Here are five spots to spread out your blanket and eat.

Mount Madonna County Park: Yes, it's a drive but that helps build up an appetite. Plus, it's a beautiful park in the mountains between Gilroy and Watsonville. 7850 Pole Line Road. 408.842.2341.

Wildwood Park: Buy something to go at the Vienna Woods deli and walk down to this pretty little creekside park. The entrance is on Fourth Street just down from Big Basin Way in Saratoga. 408.867.3438.
