Redwood Amphitheater
Tickets: Through PGA box office
Don't Miss: Wonderworld, 107.7 Bone Bash
Comments: With every year, Redwood Amphitheater takes bigger steps to assert itself as a player in the summer concert business. It boasts one of the largest outdoor amphitheaters in the South Bay (10,000 people!) and a theme park to boot. Add to that good freeway access and acres of parking and, guess what! Redwood Amphitheater kicks butt! Now, if only the talent lineup matched the other pluses. This year's selections are mostly restricted to the teens (Dream Street and A-Teens), radio shows (the Bone Bash and 95.7 Last Chance Summer Dance), Christian rock and a few ethnic-specific events. But then there's the Wonderworld event, an after-hours dance party starring world-famous DJs Donald Glaude, David Garcia, Gene Farris, Mars, Dyloot, Sandra Collins, DJ Relm, AK1200, Dieselboy, Simply Jeff and many more. The park will be open exclusively from 6pm to midnight, and the dance floors will stay open until 1am for 18 and over and until 3am for 21 and over. A real smart, progressive move that deserves a round of applause.
