Don't Miss: David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar, Area:Two, Smokin' Grooves, Rush

Comments: The perennial outdoor concert destination will really be tested during this summer of "economic recovery" with a lineup that's sprinkled with tempting morsels. The curiosity factor of Sammy Hagar and David Lee Roth rehashing old Van Halen tunes is a good starting point. It's going to be hard to top last year's Area:One, but having David Bowie in tow is a good start. The Smokin' Grooves roster is amazing: Outcast, the Roots, Jurassic Five, DJ Shadow and Lauryn Hill, who just released a superb double CD of acoustic music. Ozzfest benefits from the success of The Osbournes TV show, but could Ozzy be far more entertaining on the small screen than onstage? "#@&* no, man!" Tack on to these curiosities the return of the Who, Kenny Chesney and Rush, and you've got a potential summer of sellouts. Now if they could do something about those Lenny Kravitz (whose album bombed) and Sheryl Crow/Train snoozefests. And does anyone else notice the absence of teen pop from Shoreline's grand tetons?
