SINCE OPENING earlier this year, the Community School of Music and Arts at Finn Center in Mountain View has collected design awards and become the center of music education for both adults and children. The $11.7 million, 25,000-square-foot facility is CSMA's first permanent home since its founding in 1968. The facility includes 17 state-of-the-art music studios, a 204-seat recital hall, visual arts classrooms, a ceramics studio and office space.
The CSMA regularly presents four different live music forums. Music @ 6 is a Wednesday weekly that highlights music faculty. Saturday afternoon soiree Concerts 4 Kids concluded last month. Cultural Crossroads ends its spring season on May 15 with a performance by soprano and bass-baritone duo Nancy and Leroy Kromm. And the new Young Musicians of the Bay Area Concert Series will conclude with a free Sunday concert with students from San Francisco Conservatory. Ticket prices vary, though investing a little in your children's musical education now could pay off big in the future.
