Mission Possible: Joshua Montenegro of San Jose poses with his prize-winning sugar-cube model of Mission San Jose.

Sweet Story

SOMETIMES, good news travels too slowly, perhaps because the press seems fixated on the woes of the world. That's why we couldn't pass up passing along belated congratulations to young Joshua Montenegro of St. Patrick School in San Jose. Joshua was one of the winners of the SugArt 2005 competition sponsored by C&H sugar. Rather than just snacking on sugar cubes, Joshua and his fellow entrants took the more sensible course of using the handy hard cubes as building blocks for architectural models. Tackling a local theme, Joshua won a second prize for his model of Mission San Jose. Victory is sweet.
