Tesla Returns The Sacramento rock band unites for a special Halloween blowout By Sarah Quelland ANY DIEHARD TESLA FANS will be thrilled to hear the band is doing a special one-night reunion concert. Sacramento radio station KRXQ-FM (98.5) is holding its 98 Rock Jambo Freakin' Ween Halloween party at the Arco Arena Oct. 25 with Tesla, 3 Doors Down and Oleander. Tickets are $30, and the show starts at 7pm. Visit www.krxq.net for more info. The 21st annual Exotic Erotic Ball is also on the way. The sexy fetish event takes place next Saturday (Oct. 21) at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. Described as part Mardi Gras, part burlesque and part rock concert, this year's masquerade ball features cybercast host Dennis Rodman, porn celebrity Nina Hartley and risqué magician Paul Nathan along with performances by Digital Underground and Superbooty. The Circus for Adults, World's Largest Fetish Room and a costume contest with $10,000 in cash and prizes adds to the celebration. Tickets are $49.50 general admission or $125 for the VIP treatment and are available through BASS. ... The next Miller Genuine Draft Blind Date concert will be held Oct. 26 somewhere in San Francisco. Past artists have included the Cure, Metallica and David Bowie, and the last event in San Francisco featured Third Eye Blind at Maritime Hall. Papa Roach is making good on its promise to infest the world. Currently cavorting through England, France and Germany on its European tour, the double-platinum band will make a return appearance to the Bay Area on the Anger Management Tour featuring Limp Bizkit, Eminem and Xzibit. The big event takes place Nov. 17 at the Cow Palace, and tickets are $38.50 in advance. Papa Roach will also perform "Broken Home" on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno Monday (Oct. 16). ... Marilyn Manson's Posthuman Records (distributed by Priority) is releasing the soundtrack to Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 (which includes a Manson cover of the M*A*S*H theme "Suicide Is Painless") next Tuesday (Oct. 17). The movie comes out Oct. 27. Manson's own album, Holy Wood: In the Shadow of the Valley of Death, should be out Nov. 14. Local tribal metal outfit Stitch celebrates the release of its self-titled debut on Prosthetic/Metal Blade Records this Friday (Oct. 13) at the Cactus Club (the album became available Oct. 10). The hefty band inked a deal based on its solid self-released album, and this fine-tuned remastered label version features the added charge of second guitarist Peter Layman. Metal Blade Records band 40 Grit also performs, along with Movement (it's this band's CD release as well) and Unjust. The Cactus Club also has a hot roster of indie-punk bands this Saturday (Oct. 14). This all-ages show features the Ataris (Kung Fu Records), Tsunami Bomb (Tomato Head Records), Pollen (Fueled by Ramen) and Lonely Kings (Fearless Records). Tickets are $10, and doors open at 8:30pm. The Funky Tekno Tribe, a collective of electronic artists and promoters, presents its eighth annual Tribal Massive the same night (Oct. 14) at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. This year's massive blowout features Darren Emerson, DJ Sneak, DJ Rap, DJ Dan, Mark Farina, Donald Glaude, Jeno, Kool Keith, Runaways UK, the Triple Threat DJs, Barry Weaver, Graeme, Phil Smart, Darkhorse, Hector Cardenas, Arturo Garces, Liquid and the Future Kulture Performance Troupe, along with exotic performances and rituals, art installations and themed rooms. Tickets are $35 advance/$45 at the door and are available at www.tickets.com. Local punk-pop trio Stunt Monkey has added a fourth. Apparently, after drummer John Velcamp made a friendly departure and was replaced by Manic Notion's Evan Bautista (who's currently a member of both bands), Stunt Monkey reeled in Manic Notion's Ben Lazarus to serve as a second guitarist. The band took the stage as a four-piece yesterday (Oct. 11) at the Cactus Club for a special taping of Fox's Locals Only presented by ULTRAViBE.com. Outtaline and Moodfrye also performed. The show airs Saturday nights/Sunday mornings at 1am.
