Baby Fox Ray of Light Roadrunner Brit "electric-dub-blues" band Baby Fox is fronted by singer Christine Leach. The group's new album, Ray of Light, is fresh, somewhat funky and earmarked for the dance floor. "Heaven's Gate" gets its drive from programmed drumming and an echo-laden dubwise sound scheme. On "Nearly Beautiful," which unfolds against a backwash of shimmering starlit synthesizers, Leach's yearning vocals hark back to the halcyon days of blue-eyed pop-soul. "Zodiac" boasts a decidedly more conventional musical support system for Leach's singing. The bass lays down a sturdy foundation while the rest of the group slips into dubland.
