5 Places to Love Thanksgiving THANKSGIVING is supposed to a homey affair at your grandparents' or parents' house. Friends and family pitch in and help cook and less competent guests watch football, munch on cocktail nuts and drink beer. But you're not un-American if you decide you need a break from this annual ritual. If you'd rather spend less time cooking and more time eating, a handful of Silicon Valley restaurants are offering special Thanksgiving dinner. Here are a few. Yankee Pier: This Santana Row restaurant will feature a seafood-centric Thanksgiving dinner that will include live Maine lobster, traditional turkey with Yukon gold whipped potatoes, garlic-and-herb-marinated flatiron steak followed by pumpkin pie and apple cranberry crisp. The New England Thanksgiving dinner goes for $39 per person and $19.50 for children 10 and under. It's $15 more for the lobster dinner. For reservations, call 408.244.1244. Restaurant Soleil: Located in Palo Alto's Westin Hotel, Restaurant Soleil will serve a new American Thanksgiving dinner for $29.95 that includes a choice of traditional turkey dinner, Angus roast beef or wild salmon. 675 El Camino Real, Palo Alto. 650.321.1000. Parcel: 104 Located in the Santa Clara Marriot Hotel, chef Bart Hosmer's Thanksgiving menu will showcase the best of American comfort food. Specialties will include wild salmon with wild mushroom stuffing and truffle fondue, Eden Farms pork loin with pecan brittle, braised escarole and, for vegetarians, acorn squash lasagna with sage-brown butter sauce. The Thanksgiving menu is $59 per person and free (!) for children 12 and under. Call 408.970.6104 for reservations. McCormick and Schmick's: The downtown San Jose restaurant will offer its regular seafood menu as well as a few Thanksgiving specials. Open noon-8pm on Thanksgiving. 170 S. Why not spend a few hours making Thanksgiving possible for the less fortunate? You've probably thought about doing it before; make this the year you do.
