Porcini, chanterelles and other wild fungi are in abundance at local markets and restaurants. Some of the best come from Burlingame-based purveyor King of Mushrooms. The following are Silicon Valley sources for the company's just-picked wild mushrooms.

Gene's Fine Foods: 18850 Cox Ave., Saratoga. 408.379.8300.

Lavanda Restaurant and Wine Bar: 185 University Ave., Palo Alto. 650.321.3514.

Paragon Restaurant: 211 S. First St., San Jose. 408.282.8888.
