We all speak a universal love language, and that language is music. On that note, the Palo Alto Philharmonic presents Passionate Perspectives. Brahms Symphony No. 4 is the only symphony ending in a minor key (in which it also begins) and was his last symphony. Pelléas et Mélisande is from an opera about, what else, a love triangle (which makes for a crappy life situation but great art). The piece feels moody, earnest and wistful—just like love. The orchestra will also perform Silvestre Revueltas’s “Janitzio.” (LP)
