The Major League Soccer All-Star Team fell to Arsenal Football Club yesterday, July 28. The squad, comprising top talent from American and Canadian soccer teams lost 1-2 at Avaya Stadium, the San Jose Earthquakes’ recently completed home field.
It was a high-profile event—about as high profile as soccer events go in the U.S. Fans showed up in droves, packing Avaya with an sold-out crowd and filling the streets and parks of San Jose in the run-up to the big game. Multiple official MLS All-Star events were held at San Pedro Square Market, and a well-attended concert, featuring Flo Rida and Belanova, was staged at Plaza de Cesar Chavez.
