Music in the Park returned to Plaza de Cesar Chavez yesterday, Aug. 21, with a set by the legendary Pete Escovedo and his Latin Jazz Orchestra. It was Escovedo’s 18th appearance at Music in the Park—a record. The Cuban percussionist, who for more than 50 years has been fusing smooth jazz, salsa and Latin jazz, entertained the crowd with long rhythmic jams.
