It’s a big touring year for Phum Viphurit, whose music video for “Lover Boy” caught international attention and spurred his first recording contract in 2019. The New Zealand-based Thai singer-songwriter cites Wes Anderson cinematography as an inspiration for his songwriting, describing his sound (broadly categorized as indie pop mixed with neo-soul) as more a feeling than a genre: “hazy sunshine music and moonlight pop.” For the North American leg of the tour, which celebrates his new album The Greng Jai Piece, Phum is supported by New Zealand dream pop band Mild Orange, and Riverside singer-songwriter/producer Brandon.
