Formed in LA in 1982, the Red Hot Chili Peppers were among the highest-profile music acts of that decade and one of the biggest-selling bands of the rock era. Three-time Grammy winners, the band cut a memorable image with bad-boy antics and a distinctive funk-rap-rock hybrid style. The group continues today and recently concluded a two-year world tour. But for concertgoers who can’t get enough of the RHCP’s music, the cleverly named Red Not Chili Peppers tribute band plays more intimate-scale venues across the country, with more than 100 live dates a year.
