The phrase something for everyone is overused, but it perfectly fits multiple Grammy winner Rickie Lee Jones. As a singer, songwriter, memoirist and bona fide legend, Jones defies labels and genres to provide a one-of-a-kind sound. While she expertly blends jazz, punk and experimental sounds, people mostly think of her as a hippie rocker. Her most popular hit, “Chuck E’s in Love,” from her 1976 debut, is the tip of the iceberg for this artist who has been called “the It girl of the ’80s” and was on the cover of Rolling Stone twice.
