The Latin Jazz Grammy Award-nominees Rodriguez Brothers bring their distinctive sound to San Jose this weekend. Conceived in 2002, the NYC-born duo creates an exciting fusion of new and old styles by blending Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, bolero and post-bop to the delight of audiences worldwide. Robert brings the piano skills honed through years of study at the New World School of the Arts and the University of Miami, while Michael contributes top-notch trumpeting perfected during his time at the New School in Greenwich Village. They’re denizens of the most famous jazz stages in the world, and their next stop is the SJZ Break Room.

Addie Mahmassani is a poet based in Santa Cruz. She holds a PhD in American Studies from Rutgers University-Newark and is currently an MFA student in creative writing at San Jose State University. There, she is a Teaching Associate as well as the lead poetry editor of Reed Magazine, California's oldest literary journal. She also surfs, sings and loves a part-sheepdog named Lou.
