In the first public indoor event of its 30th anniversary season, San Jose Chamber Orchestra presents three exciting premieres that are “Of Time and Place.” Alone Together, a timely piece composed by three-time Emmy winner John Wineglass, takes social distancing as inspiration, while our experience of time during the pandemic inspires composer Jaco Wong’s SJCO-commissioned piece Oleka—a word which refers to the transience of our days on Earth. To conclude, SJCO presents the West Coast premiere of Brazlian composer João Luiz Rezende’s harp concerto Recife, performed by Bridget Kibbey, “the Yo-Yo Ma of the harp.”
