Med students. Such showoffs, with their enhanced grey matter and their fancy stethoscopes. Now they gotta add salt to the wound and play soulful, gorgeous orchestral music for a reasonable fee? Sheesh! All jokes aside, creativity enhances all professions, and that includes doctoral brains. The Medical Student Symposium celebrates the many artistic, literary, musical and other creative scholarly talents at the Stanford School of Medicine. The classical program includes the “Irish Suite” by Leroy Anderson and everyone’s favorite emotion-generator, Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue.” Also on the program are some compositions from Mikhail Glinka and Jean Sibelius.
