In these trying and uncertain times, it’s important to take in as much art, culture and educational fodder as possible before they’re made illegal or vanish altogether. Luckily, the San Jose Museum of Art’s First Friday centers on a reception for their new, ongoing Tending and Dreaming: Stories from the Collection exhibit. The exhibit takes favored pieces in the museum’s collection from over 50 artists like Ruth Asawa, Elias Sime and Martha Atienza and tells their stories like never before. Oakland-based jazz collective Citizens Jazz will lay down some smooth jams to add extra ambiance to the art.
