The Guild Theatre will host a special presentation of the PBS film The Cost of Inheritance for one night only. Building on the controversial debate surrounding America’s history of slavery and the country’s role and responsibility in paying reparations, The Cost of Inheritance uses the experiences of real people combined with information about the Civil Rights Movement and Jim Crow laws to beg the question: why haven’t reparations been paid to African Americans? Following the film screening, the show will feature a conversation between participants in the film and UC Santa Barbara professor Christopher McAuley. (TM)
