The Queen of Crime, Agatha Christie, who wrote 66 detective novels and over a dozen short story collections, is the best-selling fiction author of all time. She also wrote three plays, The Mousetrap being the most celebrated. The characteristically witty and engaging murder mystery play also holds the distinction of being the world’s longest-running play, having been staged continuously for more than 29,000 performances from 1952 until March 2020, when Covid forced a temporary pause. To date, there has never been an English-language film or television adaptation of The Mousetrap. Performances run through April 6.
