Lessons of the past are still present. That truth rings in Terrence McNally’s Ragtime, which will be staged by TheatreWorks Silicon Valley this June for a four-week run. The musical showcases the interweaving lives and experiences of three families in the dawn of the 20th century, as they each pursue the American Dream in an ever-changing world. The original Broadway rendition was deemed a “colossal hit” by the New York Post when it first ran in 1998, receiving four Tony Awards. In the time since, the production has been called “a masterpiece” by The Mercury News and “still relevant today” by The Seattle Times.
