.Tierra y Raices in San Jose

The San Francisco-based company MovingGround, led by artistic director Krista DeNio, specializes in interactive, site-specific performances that allow immersion in the themes at hand. Last year’s production of Tierra y Raices (Earth and Roots) was such a hit that the group is bringing it back to Mexican Heritage Plaza for a second run (But with new content). The performance explores migration, cultural erasure and spiritual ties to the land. The interactive experience runs concurrently with a closing reception for Tierra y Raices, the art exhibition curated by Works San Jose. (AM)
