Saratoga is being graced by not one but two Grammy Award-winning, internationally known Southern artists. Hailing from New Orleans, Trombone Shorty blends funk, jazz, hip hop, R&B and the music of his home city for a modern sound that is all his own. This makes sense as the prolific artist was first discovered at the age of four (!) by Bo Diddley, who heard him playing and invited him onstage. Big Boi is also on the bill, the Atlanta rapper who gained notoriety as one-half of hip hop duo Outkast. But since the group’s 2003 split album, Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, Big Boi has continued his success as a solo artist, actor, shoe designer and political activist.
