.Try the Pie in San Jose

Heavy Lemon presents a lineup of local legends to launch October with Try the Pie at the helm. Tongan-American vocalist and guitarist Bean Kaloni Tupou formed Try the Pie in 2006 and has since developed a poetic indie rock sound fusing country, Bay Area punk and Polynesian influences. With the addition of Nick Lopez on drums, Bailey Lupo on bass and Laine Barriga on guitar, Try the Pie has made waves far beyond San Jose, recently releasing their second album, A Widening Burst of Forever, on Get Better Records and landing a spot on Rolling Stone’s “10 Rising AAPI Artists You Need to Know.”
