I was there when the fellow on the power wheelchair was hit in Japantown. The only skill I had at my disposal was the ability to call 9-1-1. While I answered a seemingly endless string of questions from the dispatcher, you went over to help the man. You calmly persuaded him not to try to sit up and professionally assessed him for broken bones or other injuries until the ambulance arrived. If I ever get hit by a car, I hope someone like you is close by. People like me without first-aid training can only ignorantly direct traffic and hope help comes fast, but that’s not what’s needed in such a situation. Time for a class.
