Owner Nick Chaput calls his Dana Street Roasting Company a "true neighborhood cafe," and he takes great pride in the culturally diverse mix of customers. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood bordering downtown Mountain View, Dana Street truly is a friendly place to get a cup of coffee. The blush and black checkered floor, high ceilings and tattered parlor-style chairs give it a down-to-earth attitude. The interior is cool and refreshing, which is a nice balance to the spicy hot coffee.

Specialty drinks like Thai coffee, made with sweetened condensed milk and Dana Street Roasting Company's own hearty blend, go well with an attractive array of pastries, muffins and cakes--and the person behind the counter is sure to smile patiently while you're making your choice.

Regular patron Catherine Salton, writing at a small round table, says the people who work at the Roasting Company are "insanely cool." They keep customers like her coming back again and again. Chaput says his staff members have even done wake-up calls for customers as occasional favors! Now that's service.

Word of their uniquely roasted coffee beans also lures local addicts, who, according to Chaput, continuously pick this nonmainstream cafe over the Starbucks around the corner.
