Downtown's old Shark and Rose has changed hands and been aptly renamed Goodfellows--and brand-new co-owners Danny Chapa and Steve Laniy are the fellows who did it. Yes, they are good. Now that Chapa and Laniy have the space, they're planning to add a little more sport to the utilitarian watering hole. They removed the old pool table to add new seating, three more TVs are en route for football season and the old banquet room will soon become a den of entertainment, with video games and dart boards in the works. They've added Harp to an already burgeoning list of 14 beers on tap and jazzed up a menu of appetizers, sandwiches and burgers to be served until 1:30am. Sounds like Godfather's got a whole new game, and we kiss his ring for it.

If Your Bar Could Be Any Animal, What Would It Be?: Split decision: "A lion," says Chapa, "because this bar is the king of the jungle." But Laniy says, "A cheetah, because we're fast and efficient."
